Deliberate damage to safety fencing on the Tholt-y-Will Road has been described as ‘gross stupidity’.
JCK Ltd’s protective fencing in Sulby was removed overnight between Monday and Tuesday.
The firm is working to repair a retaining wall at the side of the carriageway - police say the fencing was damaged so that access could be gained to the road.
Officers say removing ‘road furniture’ without lawful authority could cause danger to other road users and say it can be an arrestable offence.
JCK says it will now be taking extra steps to make the site more secure.
