A pioneering project being ran in the Island’s primary schools will feature heavily on this evening’s edition of ITV1 flagship current affairs programme, Tonight.
They will be focussing on the Roots of Empathy project, a joint initiative between the Children’s Centre and the Departments of Education and Children, Health, Social Care and Home Affairs.
In endeavours to teach six and seven year olds about feelings and behaviour, with parents bringing their newborn babies into the classrooms to aid the process.
Created first in Canada its been operating on the Island now for three years and involves 30 schools.
Filming took place in December at Auldyn Infants’ School in Ramsey.
The segment will form part of the 3 piece programme looking into the pressures of childhood.
The show will get underway at 7.30pm.
