It pays to be a teacher

Figures reveal the Government's spent more than £350,000 in the past five years bringing teachers to the Isle of Man.

In Tynwald this week Onchan MHK Julie Edge asked education, sport and culture minister Graham Cregeen how much was budgeted and spent on relocating educators to the Island.

In response, Mr Cregeen revealed £139,000 was spent in the period 2016 to 2017.

In total, between 2012 and 2017 £351,169 was spent bringing teachers to local schools.
