This year they’re aiming to surpass last years total of collected litter of just over 2 tonnes.
Douglas Borough Council are yet again gearing up to rid the Island of litter by organising another Big Tidy Up all Island challenge.
It will be taking place on Friday 30th September and Saturday 1st October; this year they’re aiming to surpass last years total of collected litter of just over 2 tonnes.
Every local authority has been contacted and asked to lend a hand making this an Island wide initiative.
The campaign attracts support from volunteer groups, charitable organisations, businesses, private individuals with the Island’s school heavily involved.
A typical session will last no longer than 2 hours with participating groups receiving certificates at a ceremony later in the year.
