An organisation which helps run the internet in Europe, the Middle East and Asia says the Isle of Man will now help measure performance.
RIPE NCC which operates in 76 countries says it now has four measuring points in the Isle of Man which means it can see how the internet traffic is routed and how it performs on the ground.
Previously the Island, along with countries such as Bhutan, Myanmar and El Salvador, had been on its low-visibility list.
However, after doubling its data collection points on the Island, the organisation says it'll now be able to produce a more accurate picture of the internet for everyone.
