The Island's court says it can't tell how many people have been jailed for possessing or supplying cannabis over the past decade.
A Freedom of Information request to the General Registry asked for the figures dating back as far as October 2011.
It also wanted to know what proportion of those in jail had been sent there for cannabis-related crimes.
However, in its response, the organisation said it can't extract the information from its systems - adding a new system being brought in would allow it to supply the information in future.
