The Island’s bid to gain International recognition as a special place for nature and people will take centre stage in a presentation this coming week.
The UNESCO Biosphere Vannin project is endeavouring to have the Island recognised worldwide as a shining biosphere reserve.
If successful the Island would become the first jurisdiction in its entirety to be awarded the privileged status.
Biosphere reserves are designated by the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation.
Professor Peter Bridgwater will host the talk at the Manx Museum on Thursday evening.
