Island will not follow UK lead on sex offender treatment

Stringent UK measures aimed at preventing re-offending sex attackers won't be introduced here.

Minister for Home Affairs says he would rather spend the cash on rehabilitating people than over-monitoring their movements.
 
This year, about 1,000 UK offenders will take lie detector tests and prescribe obligatory libido suppressants to ensure they adhere to licence conditions.
