The Isle of Man is to follow the UK in offering booster jabs to all residents aged over 50, health and care workers, people in residential homes and those who live with someone who is immunosuppressed.
The government says preparations are ‘well underway’ for the booster programme to begin in the next few weeks, and plans are to vaccinate around 40,000 residents who had their second jab at least six months ago.
It comes after recommendations from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation after considering the risks of increased infections in winter.
Those eligible will be offered the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, regardless of what they received previously.
