The Island will get the same treatment as all regions of the UK when it comes to medicine supplies.
That's according to Health and Social Care Minister, David Ashford MHK, as plans were announced for a serious shortage protocol which, if approved, could be implemented if certain supplies become short.
Mr Ashford added officials are taking action to prepare for difficult scenarios including for after Britain leaving the EU.
An order to bring in the protocol will go before Tynwald this month - if given the green light it will come into effect from December 1.
