2 Year 12 Pupils Win Fortnight At Prestigious NASA Space School
Two lucky high school students accompanied by one teacher will be embarking on the trip of a lifetime today, after being selected to go to the NASA United Space School in Houston, Texas.
The trip has been co-ordinated by Island based space company Mansat, they put a request out to students to write in no more than 250 words why they should be selected.
Year 12 students Liam Carter-Hawkins, from St Ninian’s High School, and Daniel Stevens, from Ballakermeen High School were the two lucky students who had their impressive entries plucked at random.
Whilst in Houston they will have 3 lectures each day, and get to visit the control room of the Apollo 13 mission.
Liam Carter-Hawkins has said he expects to get a lot out of the fortnight given his passion for Physics and Maths.
