An Island man is in Ukraine training bomb disposal technicians and distributing supplies to help those in need.
Chris Garrett from Peel is on the frontline - and is documenting his journey on Instagram.
Chris has previously volunteered to defuse explosives and clear mines in Ukraine - winning three medals.
He has served with the Ukrainian National Guard and was given the Defence of Shyrokyne medal after spending 14 hours trapped behind enemey lines while clearing mines in 2015.
Now, Chris is in Ukraine amid Russia's invasion - according to his social media he's working with a number of units, while distributing supplies such as medicine and food.
In one of his latest posts - Chris says he's 'taken back' by the sheer level of destruction in Kyiv.
