Levels of air pollution in the Isle of Man this afternoon have been branded "very high".
The government laboratory says it’s as a result of the air pollution cloud from the Saharan desert.
It says it will continue to monitor the situation, which is due to prevailing weather conditions.
Adults and children who have lung problems or heart problems and the elderly have been advised to avoid strenuous activity.
People with asthma may find they need to use their inhaler more often.
The Public Health Directorate says anyone exercising outdoors should reduce the amount they are doing if they experience a cough or a sore throat.
