Swearing at a police officer has cost a Douglas man £300.
41-year-old William Russell, of Woodville Terrace, was fined following an appearance at Douglas Courthouse yesterday.
He admitted being drunk and disorderly near to his home just after midnight on July 12th.
Police had been called to the area to investigate a disturbance - however Russell became aggressive and started swearing when an officer tried to take his details.
Russell’s advocate told the court he’d been in an ‘irate mood’ due to some of his personal belongings going missing.
Russell was also ordered to pay £125 in prosecution costs.
