IOMPO to seek new Sub Postmaster for Peel

The Isle of Man Post Office will be seeking expressions of interest from next week for a new Sub Postmaster in Peel.

The body is due to publish a statement via the Isle of Man Government procurement portal, for the provision of counter services and/or parcel collection services in the town.

It comes in light of the current retailer acting as Sub Postmaster having just notified IOMPO of the required six months’ notice of her intention to terminate her contract for service.

IOMPO said that although there is a three-month cooling off period within the termination clause of the contract, the body is keen to understand what interest there may be from existing or new businesses in the community.

Chairman of Isle of Man Post Office, Stu Peters MHK said: 'I would like to place on record our grateful thanks to the outgoing sub postmistresses for the services she has provided on our behalf and that of our commercial partners for the past 9 years.

'The expression of interest will commence from week commencing 23rd January 2023 and by starting the process now, it will allow us to adhere to the required procurement protocol and reduce the risk of any break in service for Peel residents.'

An update following the expression of interest exercise will be issued by IOMPO in due course.
