Young people on the island would benefit from having a dedicated children's commissioner.
That is the view of Garff MHK and former Children's champion - Daphne Caine.
Mrs Caine - who was the Island's Childrens champion from 2016 to 2018 put forward the idea for debate in Tynwand earlier this month.
She received support from members such as current children’s champion Rob Callister, Peel & Glenfaba’s Kate-Lord Brennan, and MLC Kerry Sharpe.
The role already exists in the likes of the UK, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Jersey and Guernsey.
The Garff MHK says the role would cover a wide range of issues - including special needs, healthcare, obesity and mental health.
Mrs Caine explained why she thinks it's a good idea:
Two more schemes backed by government fund
Island to get Bikesafe scheme for first time
Jurby Junk's Stella dies aged 90
No plans to publish UK's assisted dying letters
