Douglas council says a huge jump in the cost of insurance has left it facing a budget shortfall.
In April's monthly financial review, the local authority says it's facing a 30 per cent hike in the cost of insuring its vehicles as well as rises in property insurance.
As a result, it's predicting a budget shortfall of around £20,000 for the coming financial year.
The council is due to meet later today.
