Police have confirmed an inquest will be opened into the death of a man who was hit by a falling piece of stone in the south of the Island.
On June 21, Emergency Services were called following reports 30-year-old Nathan Harvey had suffered 'significant injuries' at Pooil Vaaish Limestone Ltd in Ballasalla.
He died a short time later.
Officers have confirmed Mr Harvey’s death will be subject of Inquest and as such only limited information can be released.
However, authorities have shared there is no criminal investigation into the circumstances of his death and a Health and safety investigation is underway.
The full statement reads:
"On 21st June 2022 Police and HSE attended Pooil Vaaish Limestone Ltd in Ballasalla following a report that a 30 year old man had suffered significant injuries as a result of a piece of stone falling on him. The male, Nathan Harvey from St Johns, sadly died a short time later. Mr Harvey’s death will be subject of Inquest and as such only limited information can be released however police confirm that there is no criminal investigation into the circumstances of his death and a H&S investigation is underway."
