The Department of Education, Sport and Culture says it won't reveal information about the use of supply teachers in the Island's secondary schools.
A Freedom of Information request asked how many teachers had stood in for lessons in each secondary school on the Island over the past five years.
In its response, the department said that would require substantial research or analysis, which it isn't required to do under FOI laws.
As a result, it says it's not obliged to comply with the request.
