A Douglas man who's admitted possessing indecent images of children had the largest collection of computer files a UK police taskforce has ever seen.
44-year-old Martin Cleator appeared before Deemster Montgomerie at the Court of General Gaol Delivery yesterday.
The prosecutor told the update hearing that Cleator's computer and hard drives had been sent to the Northwest Regional Organised Crime Unit, known as Titan, for analysis.
However officers are still sifting through up to half a million images.
The case is the largest the taskforce, which includes officers from six UK police forces, has ever seen.
The court was told police could only take a "dip sample" of files because of "the enormous, enormous number of images".
Cleator's advocate said he was concerned about the length of time the investigation was taking but made no application for bail.
Deemster Montgomerie remanded Cleator in custody - he'll appear again on Friday, January 20th for sentencing.
