Police have recently received a 'number of complaints' about damage to wrapped hay bales in Douglas.
Over the last couple of weeks there have been issues within the fields off Jonny Watterson's Lane.
Officers say climbing on the bales and ripping the plastic off causes the hay to rot and renders them useless, costing the owner around £200 each time.
Police patrols will be increased in these areas and the public is asked to be mindful of the consequences to the owners should any damage be caused.
