Treasury Minister Anne Craine has been speaking to 3FM about the success of online tax submissions, and the significant money they can save for the Department.
Since its introduction in 2006 the service has seen a steady increase in popularity, with annual savings of £90,000 reported.
Online services have been identified as a key tool in helping the Government address the fiscal challenges that lie ahead.
By completing your return online it's removing both admin and stationary costs for the tax office.
Minister Craine told 3FM that the longer-term objective is to reach a position where the online submission of tax returns is the norm.
