Would-be recyclers are being asked not to put any old rubbish in their bins.
Douglas Council took to Facebook to make the appeal, saying food waste, dog poo bags, and medical waste were being left in boxes.
The local authority says it you wouldn't want to handle it, don't expect recycling staff to.
And it adds recycling should always be separated out from general waste.
