Civil Partnership Bill Up For Discussion Again
The contentious Civil Partnership Bill was once again up for discussion in The House of Keys this morning, with a view for same sex couples eventually having the same rights as Married couples.
The Bill is being spearheaded by Economic Development Minister Alan Bell, with support from numerous MHK’s, it has however been opposed by some politicians who feel it would be wholly un-Christian to approve such a bill.
The Isle of Man has over the years had a stigma attached to it as being an intolerant Island, something the supporters of the Bill have said needs to be left firmly in the past.
If approved the Bill could be law by the end of the year.
