A new survey suggests that economic growth on the Island is being hampered by a lack of skilled workers.
The Department of Economic Development and the Manx ICT Association surveyed 53 companies to find out more about the ICT industry. All who took part are confident it’s a booming sector but say there are a
lack of Manx people with relevant IT skills.

28 of those companies are expected to create more than 60 new jobs in the next 12 months alone - but this is likely to result in outsourcing to find the right staff for the job.
Minister John Shimmin says his department will work with the industry to
rectify the issue.
