Figures from the Department of Home Affairs show the number of drivers caught using mobile phones has almost trebled in the last year.
In Legislative Council this week MLC Bill Henderson asked how many people had been stopped for the offence in the last two years.
Between March 2015 and February 2016 35 people were cautioned, fined or given a fixed penalty notice.
But between March last year and February this year that figure had leapt to 95.
