HSBC is warning its customers of a scam which attempts to steal personal and financial information.
The bank says con artists are sending text messages claiming to be from HSBC advising a new payee has been added to an account or unauthorised access has been detected.
The bogus message asks someone to click on an embedded link, but HSBC is warning the link leads to a spoof website that steals either personal or financial details.
The bank adds it will never ask you to move your money to a safe account and if you have any concerns call them on a known and trusted phone number.
