The Isle of Man Water and Sewerage Authority have published a set of guidelines designed to help householders avoid getting frozen water pipes.
The authority has already had many customers contacting them with the complaint.
The advice they offer is to thaw out the pipes using a hair dryer, being careful not to warm them too quickly, the water supply to your home must be turned off at the stop tap for this to be successful.
You’re urged not to use a blowlamp, heat gun or any other naked flame.
Anyone who wants more information is asked to contact the their Customer Services Department on 695949.
