It's not known exactly how many hours the Isle of Man's special constables worked last year.
That's the admission from the Department of Home Affairs - Minister Bill Malarkey was asked for the answer in the House of Keys.
In a response to a written question he said special constables don't all record the number of hours they work, but in 2016 they worked at least 2,964 hours.
He also confirmed figures for community volunteers aren't recorded.
