The head of Hospice UK says cutbacks at the Island's Braddan facility have exposed what he calls a "cack-handed muddle from the Council of Ministers".
UK chief executive Toby Porter took to LinkedIn to criticise the government after Hospice Isle of Man announced it had to scale back its operations because of funding shortages.
He says the situation is very worrying for patients and families as well as staff and volunteers.
And he labelled the government "politically careless" for the cuts to palliative care, with assisted dying expected to be available in the near future.
