The government says it wants to permanently store silt dredged from Peel harbour at a site in German.
The silt, dredged from the marina five years ago, has been stored at Rockmount next to the government's quarry on Poortown Road.
When it was first set up, permission was given to store the contaminated silt there for five years.
But the Department of Infrastructure says it doesn't want to disturb an established meadow, and moving it would mean more heavy traffic.
