Almost 30 children have already left school this year to be home educated, according to the Island's education minister.
Minister for Education, Sport and Culture Daphne Caine faced a question for written answer from Rushen MHK Juan Watterson, asking how many children left school to be home educated in the last three years.
She revealed in this academic year alone, 29 children have already left state schools in favour of home schooling.
That figure is the highest for three years, with half the academic year still to go.
