To Formally Identify Mans Body Found In Laxey
An investigation is underway after the body of a man was found in Laxey.
A member of the public discovered the body in a yard off Church Hill at around 7AM yesterday.
For investigations to be carried out the main road through Laxey was cordoned off.
Trams were cancelled and buses were diverted over the Mountain.
This morning Church Hill remains closed from its junction with New Road to its junction with Captains Hill.
An area from Church Hill towards Laxey Manx Electric Railway station is also closed.
Officers say, at this point, the death is being treated as unexplained.
A home office pathologist is due on the Island today to conduct a post mortem. Police have told us they believed to know the man's identity however cannot release his name until formal identification take place later.
