The director of highways has admitted he’s concerned about the long-term condition of Manx roads.
Richard Pearson says not enough is being done to invest in sustainable network, especially after the winter.
He says that while the Department of Infrastructure is prioritising repair work to ensure safety standards are being met there isn’t the budget to fully deal with crumbling roads.
Mr Pearson adds that quick-fix jobs are not sustainable in the long-run and could lead to further problems:
