Efforts are under way to keep the Island's history and heritage attractions attractive to residents as well as visitors:
That's Manx National Heritage director Edmund Southworth who says the local community should notice vast improvements this year.
Vikings are set to dominate 2016 with a number of exhibitions, shows and lectures planned - visitors will also see upgraded facilities and improvements to infrastructure.
