Heritage director speaks of shock inheritance

Mr Collister served in the Second World War and with the Manx Regiment in Crete and North Africa

The director of Manx National Heritage has told 3FM about the moment he found out the organisation had been left a £1.2million property and priceless military memorabilia.

Edmund Southworth recounted the shock he felt from being named in a property court case right up to the moment the property was formally handed to MNH (see audio).

You can hear more on the military content left to Manx National Heritage by the late John Donald Collister, already understood to be some of the finest Manx military memorabilia on record, on next week's news updates.
