The yellow notice is in force until 6am tomorrow morning.
Ronaldsway Met Office says rain developing this afternoon will become heavy at times, creating difficult driving conditions.
Downpour is expected to turn to showers later this evening, with up to 20mm of rainfall expected.
Meanwhile, strong southwest winds combined with a big tide tonight will cause some minor coastal overtopping on exposed coastal routes and promenades.
