The government is considering plans which would allow Southlands care home to respond in the event of increased demand for dementia care beds.
That's according to Health and Social Care Minister, David Ashford, who also added the facility has the ability to increase its capacity - which is currently 72 people.
His comments came in written reply to a query from Speaker of the House of Keys, Juan Watterson, in Tynwald on Tuesday.
Rushen MHK Mr Watterson had asked what the operational capacity of the home is and if the DHSC had any plans to increase it.
