Chief Minister Alf Cannan asked Infrastructure Minister Michelle Haywood to resign over the rollout of 20mph zones and controversy about the Local Government Bill.
That's according to an official letter he sent her, saying the government wanted to see these issues addressed differently.
The Rushen MHK was replaced in the role by Peel and Glenfaba member Tim Crookall this morning, Monday, January 19.
Mr Cannan went on to thank Dr Haywood for her work over the past 15 months, saying she had restored Air Traffic Control services.
