Harry Potter author JK Rowling has sparked anger after claims she used the Manx flag to mock mental illness and the LGBTQ community.
On Twitter, the controversial writer posted a picture of the Manx flag, which she described as the "thirder flag".
The term "thirder" is commonly considered a slur.
I’m not angry, Julie, just deeply disappointed. Should you decide to reflect, learn and do better, you can start by displaying the thirder flag on all future tweets. pic.twitter.com/qY6JR9Bsgl

Her comment has sparked a number of Tweets from Manx residents who object to her use of the Manx flag.
I’m furious that JKR is using the #Manx flag to mock queer and mentally ill people.

It may not be super obvious if you’re not overly-online or closely following trans issues, but they’re mocking the LGBTQ community and people with PTSD. #IsleOfMan @IOMGovernment https://t.co/ZbKI2EzPIE
In honour of @jk_rowling’s flat IOM joke - here’s a dead Lions Mane jellyfish. pic.twitter.com/dTpPJ8o895
