A local rugby club says money raised for it at a popular Island event is doing wonders for developing its new base.
Southern Nomads RUFC is one of three organisations supported during the Harbour2Harbour walk and has been gifted nearly £6,000 since event organisers made it a chosen charity in 2014.
Southern Nomads so far has been able to put funds towards creating two new pitches at Ballakilley and there are further plans to build a permanent clubhouse and changing facilities.
The Harbour2Harbour Walk has raised almost £30,000 for its trio of chosen charities which also includes Southern Community Initiatives (SCI) and Men in Sheds.
