A Douglas man who got "red mist" after seeing his ex-girlfriend with another man has been convicted of common assault.
24-year-old Jonathan James Elliott, of Tynwald Road in Willaston, appeared at Douglas Courthouse earlier this week.
The court heard Elliott had gone to his former home on Lakeside Road in Governor's Hill on the evening of March 14th.
He'd been summoned to help the woman who'd forgotten the WiFi password - however when he got to the property he saw her sitting on the sofa with another man.
Elliott forced his way in, damaging the door in the process, and attacked the man and putting him in a headlock.
At his court appearance he pleaded guilty to common assault and damaging property - the court heard a Newton Hearing is now needed to determine certain facts of the case.
Bail was granted until Elliot's next appearance on May 16th.
