The government is reducing the self-certified sick period from 21 days to 14 days.
The Treasury is making changes in line with the relaxation of self isolation rules for those who test positive for Covid-19.
Residents can self-certify their incapacity for work by submitting a form to Social Security, and anyone still unable to work after 14 days will need a sick note to continue receiving benefits.
The change applies to claims made on or after Friday April 1, with more information on the government website.
