Laws which the Island's Fire and Rescue Service operates under are going to be updated for the first time in over 40 years.
Two Bills, the Fire Services Bill and the Fire Safety Bill are currently being drawn up.
The legislation they're replacing dates back to 1975 and 1984.
One of the aims is to keep up the standards of the Island's emergency service compared to those in the UK.
