The government says it's spent almost £165,000 on AI for its workers over the last two years.
3FM made a Freedom of Information request to the Cabinet Office about how many government staff use AI and how much it had cost.
In its response, the organisation said since June 2024, it had bought 3,460 licences for Microsoft Copilot.
In 2024 around £5,300 was spent, rising to £33,600 last year - and more than £125,000 so far this year.
