The Department of Infrastructure says it hopes changes in Douglas harbour will improve facilities for visiting sailors.
It's applied for planning permission to improve its laundry and shower block on the Tongue in Douglas.
In its application it says relocating the entrance to the front of the building will make it more welcoming and user-friendly.
And it says although the tongue is at high risk of tidal flooding, it plans to put in measures to help mitigate the problem.
