Government rejects new UK flight charges

Government has confirmed it will not adopt new UK flight charges for passengers flying on larger aircrafts.

The extending air passenger duty will see an extra £13 charge for flights from the UK to the Isle of Man on aircraft with 19 seats or more.

This has been introduced by the British government in a bid to generate more revenue.

However, the Treasury Minister says that flights from the Island to the UK will not have the extra charges and that he’s currently in discussions with the UK to get them to reverse this new charge.

Eddie Teare told us more about his decision (see audio).
