The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture says it has plans in place to deal with so-called 'murder hornets'.
The insects, which reach up to twice the length of a wasp, haven't yet been spotted on the Island, according to minister Clare Barber's response to a question for written reply.
She told North Douglas MHK John Wannenburgh DEFA staff have specialist training in how to deal with Asian Hornets - which could pose a threat to vulnerable people if they became established here.
Mrs Barber says anyone who sees the hornets are being urged to contact the department's pest control officers immediately.
