The Cabinet Office says it doesn't know how much one MHK's questions have cost the taxpayer.
A Freedom of Information request asked how much Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse's questions in the House of Keys and Tynwald had cost during this administration.
In its response, the government said civil servants don't keep time records that could allow calculations to be made.
It added parliamentary questions can take considerable time to answer, and are treated as high-priority.
