The Island’s Health Minister has announced that the Government is taking ‘initial steps’ to stop the spread of the South African Covid-19 variant.
Lawrie Hooper MHK posted on his Twitter account that the Manx government was working on a ‘further response’ to the risk of the Omicron variant reaching the Island.
It follows the UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson announcing new measures in place this evening for those travelling back to the UK from abroad.
Mr Hooper said: “Things are moving quickly as you can imagine but please be assured we are not standing still.”
